Comparisons

In light of my last post, I thought I would look throughh old pictures and actually compare my children at similar ages. I figure they are all about 7 months in all these pictures. I think Matthew takes the cake for weight even though this picture doesn't seem to show him in all his fat glory. I think I'll have to look for a nudey picture. You can tell I tried a little harder with Nicole's hair than I do with Anya's! Too bad there is so much more of it to do something with!

Getting Big

Anya is 7 1/2 months old now and getting so big! Well, that's all relative, I suppose! She's no where near as big as Matthew and Nicole were at this age but she just seems so old! She seems to be weaning herself in favor of baby food, which she LOVES! She is such a happy girl - even when being mauled by her siblings! I came out yesterday and Nicole had outfitted her for a hike, complete with backpack and compass around the neck!

Creativity

I love it when I walk into a room and my kids have come up with an activity that I never in a million years would have thought of. Matthew is at that glorious age where everything can be made out of paper. One day he decided to make a "king cobra costume." I think he may have wanted it to cover his whole body but this had to suffice. He was a little dissapointed at the end that it didn't look EXACTLY like a king cobra (it makes me wonder what he was picturing in his head?!) but I think after a little help from mom with modifying the "sticky-outy parts" he was satisfied. Back view. Front view. Notice the realism of it all. We even have the tongue out!

I walked into the living room to find Nicole had lined up ALL her babies ("babies" includes bears). It apparently includes Anya too because she was no longer where I left her but had been dragged over to the line. Next time she is bored I think I will just say, "Hey, why don't you go line something up?" That should take care of her for a while.

At least Anya still loves her!

The Great Outdoors

We love to go hiking. Matthew always asks if we can go hiking in the mountains. So here we are hiking in the mountains. . . at Mutual Dell. . .the only place we ever go. I think somewhere back a few months ago there is another very similar post to this but minus one child. Aha! The camera timer DOES work!

Yes, you'll notice a change of clothes. Here we are at Mutual Dell again within a matter of weeks. It really is the only place we ever go.

Stuff We Do

Have apple-rock stands. Apples: 10 cents Rocks: 5 cents. Went like hot cakes. Nice view of Colie's chosen ensemble that day. Lovely. Excercise with mom. No, that is not a load of laundry waiting to be folded behind us. Whatever were you thinking?

Build forts. Give the heavy books the only use they ever get.

Snuggle with Daddy on the couch in the mornings. If he's there.
